It seems far too peaceful a scene. Decorating on this Christmas Eve. We're all smiles and play as soft music fills our ears. The family pets surround us, confused by all of our strange actions. My niece is wearing a crown of tinsel, pretending the golden plastic is her real hair. Her mother, my sister-in-law, directs her on putting ornaments in all the right places.
